Hi there! My name is Scott Phillips, and I’m the voice and webmaster behind Ozark Bantams. I currently reside in Southeast Missouri, where I maintain a small flock of bantam and ornamental fowl which currently includes 14 black cochin bantams, 2 white cochin bantams, 4 white call ducks, 3 golden pheasants, and 6 mandarins. The cochins live together in a poultry shed that I built several years ago, while the ducks and pheasants live in their separate aviaries. We occasionally have birds and hatching eggs from our flock available for sale. Email me for prices and current availability.
Although I had a few chickens when I was younger, raising bantam poultry didn’t become a serious hobby for me until the spring of 2007. That year, I acquired the foundation stock for what would eventually become my current flock of black cochin bantams. Since that time I have added white cochin bantams to my flock, as well as several white call ducks, black east indies, mandarin ducks, and golden pheasants. When I’m not working in and around the chicken house and duck pens, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling the Ozarks, shopping on eBay, going to poultry swaps, and fishing. I’m an avid internet surfer, a long-time user of Linux OS, and a novice web page designer. Some of my interests include aviculture, history, and search engine optimization.
If you haven’t already figured it out yet, this blog chronicles my flock of bantam and ornamental fowl, as well as my experiences with raising backyard poultry as a hobby.
